Michael Britch, BSc (Hons) MAPM, MIOB – has spent over 30 years in the construction industry. He completed his degree at UMIST in 1979 before joining Taylor Woodrow Construction as an assistant Civil Engineer. During 13 years with Taylor Woodrow he progressed to Regional Manager, responsible for an annual turnover of £50m of construction work.
Mike joined NPS Property Consultants Ltd as Managing Director in 1993 and additionally became Managing Director of the Norse Group Ltd in 2006. Since then, Mike has provided strategic leadership to the overall Norse Group, with a key responsibility to manage the Shareholders and develop new business opportunities. The Norse Group, which is wholly owned by Norfolk County Council, provides wide-ranging property, facilities management and care services, employing over 10,000 staff in 41 offices and numerous other establishments across the UK. The Group’s annual turnover is currently circa £310m.
Key to the Group’s success has been Mike’s skill in identifying and implementing innovative new business models as well as proactively responding to an evolving market and policy landscape to develop the services and opportunities the Norse Group offers its clients in both the public and private sectors.
Mike is an elected member of the CBI Eastern Regional Council and an active participant in the CBI Public Sector Services network.
Outside work, Mike is a keen proponent of DIY and gardening, and an occasional golfer.
